Willow and tissue lanterns are great fun to make, if a little messy! they brighten up the long, dark winter nights.

For younger children, if the willow and tissue is too adventurous, equally lovely lanterns can be made using recycled and re-used materials. This owl was made using a plastic milk bottle and some plastic signs. Effective isn't it?
